Net carbs refer to the digestible carbohydrates in food that are absorbed by the body and impact blood sugar levels. The calculation is based on subtracting indigestible components from total carbs:
Note: Dietary fiber is fully subtracted because it cannot be digested by the human body. Regarding Sugar Alcohols: Since different sugar alcohols impact blood sugar differently (e.g., Erythritol has almost no impact, while Maltitol does), standard safety practice is to subtract only half of the total sugar alcohol grams.
