Calculation Method
Mifflin-St Jeor Equation
This calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation, which is widely considered one of the most accurate methods for estimating BMR.
Men: BMR = (10 × weight kg) + (6.25 × height cm) - (5 × age) + 5
Women: BMR = (10 × weight kg) + (6.25 × height cm) - (5 × age) - 161
How to Use
- Select unit system (Metric/Imperial) and your gender.
- Enter your age, height, and weight details.
- Click 'Calculate BMR' to get your Basal Metabolic Rate.
- Check the equivalent foods list to visualize the calorie amount.
Tips
- BMR is the calories you burn at complete rest, excluding physical activity.
- To find Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE), multiply BMR by an activity factor (1.2-1.9).
