Calculation Method
The Overtime Calculator helps you calculate extra earnings for work performed outside regular hours. Most jurisdictions mandate overtime pay for work exceeding standard hours (usually 40 hours per week), typically at a rate of 1.5 times the regular hourly wage (Time and a Half).
Formulas
The formulas used are:
- Regular Pay = Hourly Wage × Regular Hours
- Overtime Rate = Hourly Wage × Overtime Multiplier (usually 1.5)
- Overtime Pay = Overtime Rate × Overtime Hours
- Total Pay = Regular Pay + Overtime Pay
